A degreeinfo thread:

Note that Athabasca preferred distance degrees because they are a distance only school. The may very well have considered a Columbia Pacific degree superior to many accredited degrees. At the time Harvard indicated a willingness to accept a CPU degree for admissions. How disgraceful is that.

I'm sure there are a whole raft of pre-accreditation Union Institute degrees there. It took like 15 years to get accreditation. Are these ones okay?

I used google to search athabascau.ca (who knows, their own search engine may be 'censored' and found actually only ONE hit about Warnborough: it isn't a teacher but a former student listed for having completed an earlier AU MBA and then pursuing a doctorate with Warnborough (2006).

I found no hits for 'pacific western' or 'columbia pacific'.

Quote:I will be applying more sunshine to this situation. If anyone else can uncover bogus/sub-standard degrees among Athabasca faculty, please let me know, so that I can have a longer list to present to the Government Minister in charge (with copy to the local newspapers...).

Another mythomaniac...

As well, I searched archived copies of the [/quote]personal page of the 'spotlighted' teacher with supposedly dodgy degrees (Lee Ann Keple), but I can't find a mention of the DBA they refer to.

It would be considered unethical for the Minister of Advanced Education to comment on internal affairs of a university. The government appoints all but the ex officio board members and provides the bulk of funding but the universities are independent of government.
