Assuming your inquiry is sincere and not just a spammer trying to garner some google hits for a mill, your instincts are correct. GABDL is not a government recognized accreditation agency, and Ashley is one of a number of "certified institutions" it purports to accredit.

Checking those names reminds me of a fantasy baseball league, except here the "teams" have no players.

Quote:McKinley University.................Payne Springs University

Columbiana University.............Arab Women University

Fort Jones University...............Nixon University

Nelson Bay University..............Wilford University

Baytown University..................Pittsford University

American Gulf University..........Ashley University

Grant Town University.............Madison Hills University

Kennedy University.................Barkley University

Stage 4 Universities
(Soon-to-be Accredited Universities) ...

• Tucson Institute of Research &Technology
• Barclay University

Look at them, paired off in two columns of eight--like the pre-expansion National and American League standings circa 1960. And two expansion teams waiting to join! The budding Washington Senators and LA Angels of higher ed!

Roll the dice and take a chance. If you are a masochist who craves public scorn, ridicule, and humiliation, or you just enjoy the sound of laughter when you walk into a room, these look like "good choices" for achieving those ends.

I run HighSchoolReview.org and see a lot of these same format names on my site. Last year they were ending with the word "Ford", Alford, Winford, Pennford, etc, and all have a "college" by the same name. It's obviously the same organization. Belford got slapped with a $22.7M fine last year for its Belford HS / Belford Univ. All the same group.

Ashley University not being registered in the USA Commission on Higher Education might fly because they claim they are an online school and have no physical school. Therefore, they must be accredited by a distant learning accrediting organization like DETC (Distant Education & Training Council) but they are not. They claimed to be accredited by these organizations linked from their website (some European and Arab council). I made further research and discovered all these accrediting bodies in their website (domain names) are owned and registered to and by one company named DNC Holdings Inc. It means all these accrediting bodies are all made up. They only have one org there they claimed to be a member. But that's just a membership and it does not mean they are certified. I knew all these because I did take their offer, only to find out they are not real school. I wish I did my research beforehand. But I was in a hurry to get my degree.
By the way, they will not end their services when you get the standard documents only. They will also try to harass you by sending an email that your degree is being investigated and you will need to have your documents authenticated by the orgs they claimed to be registered. Because I didn't avail the authentication and attestation which costs another USD 1-2K.
If you really want real degree, go take the course. You will find it more fulfilling and you know you took it.
I would recommend Penn Foster College. It's legit. It's very cost affordable and their teaching system is really great for busy people. I went with them and still going. Hope this helps.
Lastly, if you want to see it yourself, go to whois.com and punch in there every website domain they use and when owner shows up, look for the Registered Name. This is one way to know about website owners. And beware, real school uses .edu not .com (.com means commercial). And if you need a proof of their letter of harrasment, let me know I can post it here.

I can tell you it's not recognized in the USA. There are no "Global" accreditors recognized. See my list of accreditors that came directly from CHEA/US DOE on highschoolreview.org.

For that matter, just google the name, tons of info about it being fake.

Dear xtin42372

Today I saw your post pertaining to Ashley University. I'm also like you who paid them in rush and now I'm confused what to do as few days back I received an email to initiate the next step of legalization. Can you please share the copy of that letter which they sent to you. furthermore, can you advice what should I do at the moment to come out of this situation.
