Will Gus come back for a curtain call?
#1
He hasn't been heard from in months. Spammers and religious nutjobs have taken over his forum. The handwriting is and has been on the wall for quite a while. DD is close to done.

Long gone are the high flying glory days of Uncle Janko and Rich "Bomber" Douglas making 10 posts a day, Jack "The Ripper" Tracey actually posting legitimate posts, George Gollin making national news as a mill buster, the iconic John Bear weighing in with something insightful to say or an anecdote, and new members joining weekly. These morons had completely bought into Gus' bullshit and it was only a matter of time before Gus assumed his rightful place as heir to John Bear as the world's foremost expert on distance education. Gus had managed to portray those with a more open view of distance education as millists and frauds, their forum (Jamesville) was hacked and the archives were deleted. The Miliatry Forums were shut down and Sainz' critics had been silenced.

It was all so close to becoming a reality, what happened? Once DD falls it will be interesting as we dissect it and begin to assign blame and note turning points. Suffice it to say, the hubris and arrogance of Gus Sainz really set the tone for the forum from Day 1. The question remains, as DD comes to an end, will Gus return for a curtain call, one last hurrah where he'll address the minions and reassure them that they have been right all along ("RA or No Way") and that we, the barbarians, didn't prove anything?

I noticed that many times...
it seems almost a curse haunting internet sites...
Gradually cliques band...cliques never attract the best but the worst: deviants, keyboard sociopaths, braggarts and other 'teen chat room' kind of quacks...
Cliques start to operate against non-clique members...membership outside the 'inner circle' grows gradually silent and ultimately leaves.
For a while you may get newcomers who bow down to the clique in order to feel accepted, to hopefully raise to the secret handshakes...
Over time, the game grows more and more tedious, until only few are left behind...sites die a slow death...often outraged prime donne leave the clique and start their own forum...twenty forums with barely no audience in the end...

Ain't that the truth.

Someone starts a board for discussion and when it happens they become thought police and no real discussion takes place. The ones who stay learn to nod their heads in unison. Don't all the nodders wonder why nobody disagrees with them and why those that disagree seem to disappear quickly? When all one sees is an echo of one's own posts, boredom quickly sets in. That's why a site like this that has open discussion blows Degreediscussion out of the water with more viewers albeit with many less members.

First, membership means nothing. I know of dead sites who sport thousands of members on paper. One once prominent site, now dead, still gets a few new members every day, while it may occasionally get one new post every 2 months. So why are these supposed newcomers joining for, exactly? Scrolling down the member list looks like a spam exhibit:porn, trim my waist, grow me hair, penis pills...

Face it: licensed psychotherapy costs a lot, while the internet is virtually free.
When was last time you read about an individual with absolute power to bully and boss people around?
Probably you were reading about business owners...but who can the owner of a burger joint boss around anyways? Five illegal aliens from the land of monsoons?
Then you must be talking about high powered executives: the Gates, Tata etc billionaires of the moment.
But not everyone is a Mitsubishi top manager and virtually nobody is a Gates...yet the internet allows anybody with $20 to buy a domain name and start a $9,99 monthly hosting plan, thus creating a virtual kingdom on air.
These days most 15yo hollow brains got their own website.

How many times have I read those online pundits claiming how great their life supposedly is, and how accessory the internet is to them, and how they are stepping down from online high priesthood because the Kremlin called or something...? Yea right...since 1998.

Much like Joe Bluff's hot girlfriend he never ceases to brag about... he's "pretty much perfect" like the effeminate thing in the caption below...oh yea...straight A's...football team...basketball team...

The caption above depicts one of such rejects...most likely a photoshop job, because the same pic is found on many places with many individuals claiming to be in it.
PFFT!
Wake up Joe Bluff...people with millions in the bank and rows of hot women begging to be screwed are few and far between...very likely out them doing the screwing, not bragging about it online...
The only connection is that the girl in the pic has probably been porked by the entire basketball, baseball, cricket, soccer and judo teams...

Who needs them guys when you have "vavovu"?  He, she or it is a testament to the genius of Gus.  Same vacuous content, more entertaining, fewer posts.

Gus was ripped in another post earlier today in this forum, and lo and behold, he returns with another of his nonsensical links.

Gus Sainz "post" at DD

BTW, is Jack the Kipper AWOL?

How could anyone tell?  He's pretty much always out to lunch in one way or another.

As for Goose, looks like the Miami Dade County Clerk's office has revised their website.  For those keeping score at home, get the latest on Goose's legal battles here.

Looks like the LaSalle Bank foreclosure action still is going strong.  How does he find the time to be one of the world's foremost self-appointed experts on distance learning and one of Miami's most sought after civil debt collection defendants?  Must be that 110-day TESC humanities degree.
