That from an undated post on the Bircham International University website forum. Could it be that others are poised to jump on the lawsuit bandwagon? Let's hope so!

Quote:John Bear's Guide
In 2007 we contacted Mr. John Bear in order to learn what arguments he used to provide incorrect references about Bircham International University. Quoting his own words:
"Perhaps at one time I may have been 'the reference' . . . but I am long retired, and not active in the field any more. I have long depended very much on AACRAO and Oregon for advice and guidelines, and for doing the kind of research that is essential. I will wait and see how they respond to your communications with them -- Dale Gough just told me that you had communicated -- and then I could contact the Wikipedia people. At this time, I understand that the AACRAO position is that Bircham "still is not listed as recognized in any resource and is not listed in any capacity on the Spanish Ministry of Education website" and that the Oregon position (I just asked Alan Contreras) is that "We don't accept Bircham degrees. We consider them not properly approved by the Spanish government (or anyplace else). They are still on The List."
His communication when he was asked about BIU from the director of the US-Spain Chamber of Commerce was:
"I am long retired from the world of higher education. I have written nothing in this field for more than four years, and never will. I am not in good health. I have no connection with any publisher or web site or education organization such as AACRAO."
Note that John Bear's expertise in the Diploma Mills and unaccredited universities started because he was the founder and president of Greenwich University for many years, and he was also involved with Columbia Pacific University and Fairfax University. All these Universities were closed by court order and are classified as unaccredited institutions or diploma mills by many of the same sources that also classify BIU.
BIU has started a legal process against Mr. John Bear and the Publishing Company of the John Bear's Guide. We hoped that fluent communications worked and this type of actions were not necessary, but now they are our only option left.
