Clifton shows his true colors

Jimmy Clifton Wrote:Great question and I will answer based on if the President had the power to do much more than he currently can.

1. Free all non-violent criminals
Vankirk: Does that include Bernie Madoff, Aldrich Ames and PFC Bradley Manning?
2. Commute all death penalty sentences
Vankirk: How about we have the state legislatures of the 50 states pass legislation banning the death penalty and commuting the death sentences of those already sentenced? That would be a novel idea and constitutional as well.
3. Bring all troops home from overseas
Vankirk: I actually agree with that - let's put them to work rounding up all the illegal aliens and securing the borders.
4. Eliminate the IRS in favor of a flat tax
Vankirk: Which agency is going to collect the flat tax?
5. Beef up the Air Force, Coast Guard, and Navy; use Coast Guard to protect the borders
Vankirk: The USCG can protect the ocean borders, I'd rather have the USMC protect the land borders.
6. Establish a 32-hour work week at 40 hours pay
Vankirk: Thanks for being reasonable. Your pals at the Socialist Party USA want a 30-hour work week
http://socialistparty-usa.org/platform/
7. Unemployment benefits would equal the unemployed's previous wages and last until once again employed
Vankirk: That should really provide an incentive for the unemployed to look for a new job. Also, since you've instituted a flat tax where will the government get the money to pay for increased unemployment, or will you just push the cost to the employers?
8. End "at-will" firing in all states
Vankirk: If you're going to mandate that employers pay laid-off employees full-pay anyway, I doubt that there will be very many layoffs.
9. Eliminate the Department of Education; leave accreditation/approval to the states
Vankirk: Here, here.
10. Reopen all civil rights murder cases and prosecute the guilty to the fullest extent of the law
Vankirk: There's no statute of limitations on murder.
11. Legalize gay marriage in all states
Vankirk: Maybe you should let the voters of each state decide that instead of imposing it from the federal government. I'm not sure but I think that there is something in THE F*#KING CONSTITUTION about it.
12. Outlaw abortion in all states
Vankirk: Ibid
13. Outlaw capital punishment in all states
Vankirk: Ibid
14. Ban psychotropic medications
Vankirk: Why stop at psychotropic medications? Why not extend it to antibiotics or corticosteroids?
15. Privatize Social Security and the Department of Child Services
16. Eliminate the Electoral College
Vankirk: Are there any other parts of the Constitution that you want to "eliminate"?
17. Open up the presidential debates to all third parties
Vankirk: I didn't know that the government ran the debates. I thought that it was private or non-profit entities.
18. Cancel the national debt
Vankirk: Are there any other parts of the Socialist Party USA's platform that you want to implement?
19. One six-year term for the President
Vankirk: Not a bad idea if you can democratically amend the Constitution.
20. Four-year terms for Congress
Vankirk: Again, not a bad idea if you can democratically amend the Constitution.
21. Ban lobbyists
Vankirk: Why not just pass a law banning free speech? Aahhh, that pesky Constitution once again.

I'm not sure if Jimmy is a naive old fool duped by a bunch of socialist and anarchist ideas or this is just the early signs of Alzheimer's disease. Sad

When Jimmy was sick he must have received a transfusion of contaminated blood from a gay socialist.

He does seem to be suffering from some sort of dementia, perhaps age or illness related. Is it too late to get some money down on him as NCTSI?

You have some intersting ideas there Vankirk. By any chance are you a libertarian? Smile

BTW The Flat Tax is not really a socialist idea. Its actually a rather conservative concept.

I have been a big supporter of the flat tax since Steve Forbes presidential run. In addition to simplicity and fairness it also would help reign in federal spending. Clifton's hodgepodge of ideas come from both the left and right and ignore such details as cost or constitutionality. His post is something that you might expect from someone who doesn't follow politics closely like that moronic Maniac Craniac at DI. I expected some more substance from Clifton but it seems I had given him too much credit.

Guess you didn't see that he said "I will answer based on if the President had the power to do much more than he currently can."

I certainly saw it but question why anyone would favor some of those extreme, incongruent policy ideas Jimmy set forth. One of the hallmarks of the American political experience has been gradual change while building a public consensus. Even if empowered to make wholesale changes, it would be imprudent for any President to move too far ahead of the public on multiple issues. Obama is a perfect example with DADT, TARP,QE I and II, and your personal favorite given your prosthetic arm and all, Obamacare.

Richard Kimble didn't have a prosthetic arm nor for that matter, did the one-armed man. You also have to remember that the ideas Jimmy suggested were simply types of "bullet points" that didn't include the necessary information that is included in all proposals. For instance, I am guessing proposal number one would only apply to "victimless crimes" such as those in prison for possession of illegal drugs, prostitution, etc. And, yes, there is no statue of limitation on murder but most of those old Civil Rights murders are now "cold cases" so they need to be reopened.

A TV documentary told that KKK members once murdered one African and 2 Jewish activists, or the other way round...it helped to think they said one of the culprits was a government informer in charge of "making things happen" in order to dial big brother later...it also seemed the KKK at the time was more about informers, snitches and turncoats than about bloody racists; the same people put bombs on trains or in public places in Italy in the 1970s, then blamed it alternatively on "red" or "black" brigades of terrorists so that little hulkamaniacs supported their loving government that was behind all that to start with. Before we exhume that, wouldn't be cool to solve some of the homicides and violent crimes happened in more recent decades? I mean, it's worse than South Africa, where it appears more Africans were murdered or abused by black militant groups (in paramilitary camps abroad or at home) than by hypothetical white pride storm troopers.
It seems that MRS Mandela in person shot a couple Africans dead, who were accused of being infiltrators.
The answer from black activists is to forget all that, it was "the spirit of the times", and to focus on "Nazi death squads".
Recently the government of Guatemala issued a declaration taking upon itself the responsibility for the murders and abuses of the civil war...

Yeah, if I were the President
of this land
I'd declare total war on the pusher man
I'd cut him if he stands
I'd shoot him if he runs
I'd kill him with my razor
And my Bible and my gun
God damn the pusher man

Somehow the notion that Axton carried both a razor and a gun is oddly reassuring, like a fallen scout who still remembered the importance of being prepared even though he forgot the "thrifty brave clean and reverent" part.
