Cool story, bro.  Unfortunately the coroner now reports it's the same sordid story we all suspected.  Just two shots, one by O'Block on the gf, the other on himself.

Quote:In a news release, Arnott said both Robert O'Block, 66, and girlfriend Tiffany Fleming, 27, suffered single gunshot wounds.

"All known facts and evidence, at this time, indicate Mr. O'Block murdered Ms. Fleming before committing suicide with a firearm," Arnott said in the release.

Here's the part I thought was interesting:

Quote:Springfield police spokeswoman Lisa Cox said that, at 8:58 a.m. Tuesday, an officer took a report of a commercial burglary at CNTA. The burglary took place sometime after 5:30 p.m. Monday.

O'Block and Fleming were found dead at O'Block's home in the 3600 block of East Kingswood Drive in the Highland Springs gated subdivision around 10 p.m. Sunday.

What's that all about?   Just some opportunist who read about it on the internet and figured nobody would be watching the store?  Or somebody covering their tracks?

Quote:The Sheriff's Office said Friday it has interviewed a witness who was in the home during the disturbance . . .

Who is this unnamed witness to the "disturbance"?  It will be interesting to see where this goes.

When I'm 70 I also want a 27yo girlfriend. I'm not sure I might ingest enough viagra to keep it up, though...

When you're 70 those kind of girlfriends are called "nurses" and the in-demand product is Depends not Viagra.  Ask Klempner, he knows.

Quote:O'Block's company suspends operations, a week after pledging 'business as usual'
Thomas Gounley, TGOUNLEY@NEWS-LEADER.COM Published 9:58 a.m. CT Aug. 8, 2017 | Updated 4:35 p.m. CT Aug. 8, 2017

The Springfield-based company founded by Robert O'Block — who authorities say shot and killed his girlfriend on July 30 before turning the gun on himself — has suspended its operations.

The move comes a week after the executive director of the Center for National Threat Assessment pledged "business as usual" in an email to members.

As of Tuesday morning, the company's website — cntausa.com — was no longer active.

CNTA is the parent company of several entities that generally offer, for a fee, to certify individuals in fields such as homeland security, forensics, psychotherapy and integrative medicine.

On Tuesday, the website for one of those companies — the American College of Forensic Examiners International — displayed a message reading: "Due to the untimely passing of CEO and Founder Dr. Robert O'Block, all operations of ACFEI are suspended until further notice."

A similar message could be found on the website of the American Board for Certification in Homeland Security.

CNTA Executive Director J.J. Goulbourne did not respond to requests for comment.

On July 31 — the day after O'Block, 66, and Tiffany Fleming, 27, were found dead — Goulbourne said in an email to members: "At this time, it is business as usual as we continue to do our best to provide service and products to our valued members. Please bear with us in this time of mourning."

Two days later, in a sit-down interview with the News-Leader, Goulbourne spoke of continuing O'Block's "legacy." He said that CNTA's respective entities have 70,000 active members, and that "what we need to do right now as a team is focus on maintaining the integrity of these certifications."

"Without this organization, all those 70,000 members that currently hold our credentials, they're null and void," Goulbourne said. "And we have an obligation to those members, and that's what we are going to focus on."

CNTA operates out of an office building at 2750 E. Sunshine St. in Springfield. The organizations within the parent company have been criticized by past employees and others in the industry as offering programs that lack rigor and certifying anyone whose check cleared. O'Block disputed that characterization during his lifetime.

Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott said Friday, five days after deputies discovered O'Block's and Fleming's bodies, that "all known facts and evidence, at this time, indicate Mr. O'Block murdered Ms. Fleming before committing suicide with a firearm."

"This is not a conclusion of the case as more factors and evidence continue to be analyzed before we are able to make any final determinations," Arnott said Friday. "The investigation is still ongoing and toxicology results are pending."

The murder-suicide took place at O'Block's home in the 3600 block of East Kingswood Drive, part of the Highland Springs gated subdivision southeast of Springfield.

On Aug. 1, two days after the murder-suicide, Springfield police took a report of a commercial burglary at CNTA. The burglary took place sometime after 5:30 p.m. on July 31.

Fleming, a 2009 graduate of Logan-Rogersville High School, identified herself as a CNTA employee. Goulbourne said last week that some of Fleming's family members had previously been employed at CNTA.

Goulbourne said the company had about a dozen employees.

A possible solution to reviving ABCHS. Please read and respond.

I have been asked by the O'Block Estate Probate attorneys to investigate and bring together those interested in preserving the ABCHS/CNTA operation. I need to hear from those who are strongly interested and motivated to keep ABCHS/ACFEI alive. Please reply to rossleo@live.com if you are. Please do so right away - there are alternative options they are exploring but all concerned believe they will not succeed and that ours is the best option available.
