Southern California University has been around since 1978 and at one time their degree in psychology (Psy.D.) would allow the graduate to become licensed in California to practice after applying for and completing all state licensing requirements. http://www.calsouthern.edu/AcademicProgr...?dpro_id=9

The program must be completed in no less than two years and no more than ten years. It is a professional terminal degree. the program also requires 60 credits to complete. Here are the courses: http://www.calsouthern.edu/AcademicProgr...?dpro_id=9

You may wish to verify their degree qualifies you to to sit for the state examination in the state you life in or if you are just interested in the degree as a personal accomplishment, that is up to you. Ask about thei accrediation status of all their programs. I know at one time they were not accredited, just state approved.

Here's what they say: http://www.calsouthern.edu/AboutUs/Approvals.aspx

Thanks Brian. I am not looking to get licensed as a clinical psychologist as this is not something I need at this point in my career - definitely a personal accomplishment. Any sense as to the quality of the program? As a side note my employer does provide tuition reimbursement, but I don't think they will pay if it is not an "accredited" program. Anyone have this issue come up?

California Southern is definitely unaccredited.? If you live in California it does have use because it is one of the few unaccredited schools whose students can be licensed.? It may have certain acceptance in some other states.? It is of little use in an academic career.
