Has George Gollin Been Suspended from the University of Illinois?
#21
Getting back to the original question........Although it appears he hasn't been suspended per se, Gollum definitely has curtailed the number and frequency of his scandalous and defamatory public pronouncements.?

Has he finally grown a conscience, or did somebody put the squeeze on his kleine Hoden?? The former is unlikely after some 8 years of desultory turpitude.?

So who forced Gollum to do the clam?? Perhaps Mr. Devilsadvocate has heard some more about these "legal setbacks" to which he referred in his original post?

I believe its all because Gollin has realized that he is a lightening rod for criticism.

Sooner or later, whan a "hobby" cuts into your personal life you realize that you bit off more than you can chew.

Gollin, who claims to be a physicist is now better known for his crusade against schools he believes to be diploma mills. As a result he and his family are living under a microscope.

Since much of this attention is unwanted I believe that he decided to step down.

Sometimes living inthe limelight is more trouble than its worth. I guess thats why many people dislike fame.

In Gollin's case I think Karma is at work here.

Eh? You must be kidding...the man was drunk nearly half of the time...and I never heard of falaka or electrocution cases at the Alcoholics Anonymous...same as you cut some slack to the robber who killed three but is deserving of our compassion because twenty years earlier when he was 13, some "Nazis" Big GrinRolleyes called him "the N word"...or perhaps a Catholic priest abused him...then you must cut slack for old George Doublejew...nasty stuff happens in those weird reunions of skull&bones (the same symbol as SS totenkopf by the way) or whatever masonic hood&cape lodge poor George was rumored to be a member of.

Good points. I never voted for Dubya and still would not.

I do not know if this is and exclusively United States board or not but I do want to talk about US Politics here.

Politicians are all scam artists. It all depends on you benefits from your treachery. One thing that Repubs and Dems have in common is a general contempt for people they supposedly represent. For instance, when Bill Clinton started that NAFTA crap and people of both parties jumped on board it was sickening. As I recall only Pat Buchannon and Ross Perot opposed it. And I can say that Ross was too much of a wierdo to be taken seriously. What candidate would enter the race with his own money, be a front runner, then drop out and then reenter the race?

Perot only had one goal and that was to see that George Herbert Walker Bush was not re-elected.

Perot was right on one point, however and that was when he described the giant sucking sound.

Nothing is manufactured in the United States anymore and that is why the US Economy is in the toilet. Meanwhile the US Army is in Afghanistan while the Chinese are buying America's debt. Its insane!

They didn't do any better than poor Ham did with ESRDS. Who was Ham? A nobody who perhaps spent 1h googling materials; oh yes, and a couple phone calls, too. But some are too much of a narcissist and of an egomaniac to avoid delusion of grandeur. Come on, folks...it isn't as if you had invented modern rocket science or the invisible plane...Nazis did well before you so that's nothing to be really proud of.

Somebody with an interest in protecting the taxpayers of Illinois from expensive lawsuits and potentially huge court verdicts probably looked at what Gollum was up to and told him to knock it off or he and his hog-vending wife both would be unemployed, tenured or not.

I doubt Gollum even comprehends the criticism he gets, let alone allows it to influence his bizarre conduct. These delusional leftists don't understand that the libtard academic fantasy world they live in represents only a small part of the general population. When they receive negative comments for their shameless behavior they just attribute it to "trailer park hounds" or "high school dropouts." They've never held real jobs or operated real businesses, so they have no idea how the real world works. That normal people don't think or act like the Gollum reprobates is unfathomable to them.

While stalking and harassing small business owners might garner you kudos from some of the Che Guevara T-shirt wearing types, in most other places it can earn you a .45 between the horns. Gollum should count his blessings and enjoy spending the next five years co-teaching freshman fine arts classes, then retire back to the oblivion he deserves.

The thing about Gollin (George Gollin, George D. Gollin, George Gollinsky) is that he can't see where he is disconnected from the workings the real world. He actually thinks that he is a man of the people despite his tenured professorship and his wife's UIUC administration job, his limited contact with the public outside of an academic environment and the highly specialized field in which he operates. GG may understand so intellectually but really comprehend the difference between getting a healthy paycheck direct deposited in your bank account every two weeks and being self-employed, working for a small business or running a business. Most people face the reality and difficulties of the latter, not the security of the former, and it has a great impact on how they view the role of the government in their lives.

Just because George drives a piece of $hit car doesn't somehow make him a man of the people. Cool

So is Gollum in the penalty box? Or is he just an ineffective starter relegated to the bullpen for mopup work and blowouts? Or is he an aging veteran with declining skills who has been benched in favor of younger, more promising talent? Will UIUC eat his contract and give him his unconditional release?

Trade him to Cleveland for a sack of manure to be named later.

The UIUC fall 2011 schedule is out. Illinois taxpayers are still getting that big bang for their bucks in the physics department. Rolleyes

$100,000 for one class a semester? As Johnny Rotten said, ever get the feeling you've been cheated?

See Der Sphincter's scratch and sniff show every Monday and Wednesday from 8:30-9:50 in room 144 of Loomis Laboratory.

What, no gay studies, urr, I mean intro to fine arts classes this time around? Probably just too much for Gollin to handle without 15 helpers.
