Banned from Degreeinfo (Douglas diss)

I just got banned from Degreeinfo (The Douglas diss)

Why?

Well - my basic opinion is that everyone should be able to ask questions and be answered politely. (I.e. not in the Degreediscussion.com manner).

I reacted on that moderator Kizmet provided what I viewed as a rude reply to a certain Dr. T, who asked how to find the Douglas dissertation.

Since Kizmet counteracted by being rude to me also, I - in an effort to try to be a little humerous - decided to post an unserious reply myself, and then planned to sum it up by posting a serious reply stating why I posted my original reply in the first place.

Suddenly moderator Bruce claims (which is totally untrue) that I and Dr. T is posting from the same IP address, and that we are trolls.

Thereafter I get banned.

Now - I write a explanation on the board, under another username, explaining the above, and guess what happens?

The whole post is deleted.

Not that I really care so much, but it shows something in relation to who can be rude/make jokes, and who can not.

welcome to the wonderful world of the internet.

the internet soap bubble has opened up an entirely new fronter for befuddled nullities .
Face it: licensed psychotherapy costs a lot, while the internet is virtually free.
When was last time you read about an individual with absolute power to bully and boss people around?
Probably you were reading about business owners...but who can the owner of a burger joint boss around anyways? Five illegal aliens from the land of monsoons?
Then you must be talking about high powered executives: the Gates, Tata etc billionaires of the moment.
But not everyone is a Mitsubishi top manager and virtually nobody is a Gates...yet the internet allows anybody with $20 to buy a domain name and start a $9,99 monthly hosting plan, thus creating a virtual kingdom on air.
These days most 15yo hollow brains got their own website.

Quote:it's my rules, whatever I decide those to be at the time. I don't answer to you or to anyone else.

Who has written the above?
The imperious, self-assured tone suggests Genghis-Khan maybe? Adolf Hitler? King Louis XIV? Julius Caesar? Nero? Al Capone?
Then I surmise Adolf Hitler and Genghis-Khan didn't change their 'rules' by the hour like a wh-re changes her opinion by the beers she drinks...
No, it was from the owner of a tier-III website.

When was last time we could just stop anyone in a public place from saying things we dislike?
We can try, if we are big, strong and bold enough...we may succeed once or twice, only to later be met by a few guys in a dark alley and en up sucking air from a respirator in hospital... on the internet we can with impunity.
What a bunch of buffoons...

There are some other considerations...

1. Bruce is an unpaid volunteer, doing a thankless job, with any number of past incidents of people trying to pull a fast one.

OTOH,

2. With all due respect to the men in blue, Bruce is a blue collar beat cop, and union rabble-rouser,with little to no managerial/leadership experience, aiding a purveyer of porn (which as a public servant is somewhat stupid - there isn't any upside) who is demonstrably desperate for the role of moderator and adjunct faculty. He has no expertise in IP adddressing, etc. - and it's not reasonable to expect him to have it. It's a bit like being the french fry cook at Burger King, you cannot expect to much - and with Bruce, that's pretty much what you get.

The major problem with degreeinfo is that disagreement with the little emperors who post there is considered disruptive behavior.  It doesn't take keen observation to know who's on the way out.  Anyone that has an opinion contrary to house rules is subject to humiliation without limit while defending ones-self will rate banishment.  They really don't want any discussion of issues.

I begin to see that now. It is really interesting - for a foreigner - to see what is really going on in the U.S. related to distance education. This is certainly big business, and it is a shame to see how low some people will sink to protect their own interests. And I thought I grasped the essence of distance education with the NA / RA differentiation. Tongue This is more like an "education war", and I am beginning to sort out my friends and enemies Smile I'd better require some new battleships to move around these waters with all the hidden agendas floating around.

Any differentiation between NA and RA is merely in the heads of those protecting the overpriced RA bureaucracies. The people who post there think they are part of the system when in reality they are victims of the system. While all of the best schools are RA, so are most of the worst schools. It is a fallacy to deny that most DETC schools wouldn't fit comfortably within the range of quality of RA schools. I didn't realize that there were enemies until I started having independant opinions.

Yes - I really swallowed that "NA is inferior" crap when I began my distance studies. I am beginning to get more pieces of the whole picture now.

In fact, I believe that the primary factor that made me investigate further was the "We are gods" attitude at degreediscussion.com. That really sucks.

Well, the only point for people is that DETC credits/degrees may very likely not be accepted by a majority of otherwise accredited schools.
As long as the student is happy and knows about it...
It's always best to inquire with potential 'next' schools in order to get pre-approval in writing.

The rest is just hogwash from the band of loons at degreeinfo and degreediscussion.
What's wrong there?
Isn't Thomas Chip White ( owner of degreeinfo ) 'a$$ doctor' gay teen porn DVD n.75 out yet, so they are bored?
