The Church of England is apologizing to Charles Darwin:

http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/st...74,00.html

WTF? Have they apolgized to everyone else and Darwin is the only one left? I don't believe in creation as opposed to evolution but I believe in balls. They come 2 per and by a freak of nature, possibly a evolutionary mutation, the Church of England doesn't have any.

About once a year or so, a reminder about these schools is a good thing. Note that the map is now adorned with the 2007-NCA-accredited Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College long ago discussed here. For those of us who care about the democratisation of educational access and the empowerment of the rural poor, without suburban six-figure-salary patronising contempt professing to know better than we what non-profit institutions we should be allowed to have (Paulo Freire, ora pro nobis--and I'm no Marxist), the AICF and its schools are beacons.

It sounds like Uncle Janko has had his fill of Gollin's nonsense. It's analogous to the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale The Emperor's New Clothes. Everyone at DD has started to see what Gollin is all about ... self-promotion. Once the egos over there get over the shock that they've been played, I suspect that they will turn on Georgie G. The resentment is already in the air and I know that Gus, for one, never had any use for Gollin but wasn't in a position to take him on.

There really is some justice in the world if Gollin gets savaged by the crowd he has spent the last several years stirring up.

Quick Ph.D. from U of L for ex-client

Two years after giving former University of Louisville dean Robert Felner's research center a $375,000 contract, a California school superintendent received a doctoral degree from U of L in only one semester.

No, for being dead wrong, rude, and mean, accusing me of something that I never did, something quite vile, in fact. It has nothing to do with expressing an "opinion."

As for waiting, I shall not. Instead, I shall employ the same privilege you've bestowed upon yourself, and express an opinion for which I have no intention of taking any responsibility for: you're an unqualified, close-minded lunkhead who has absolutely no business mangling the role you've assumed for yourself on this board.(unquote)

He pretends he's joking but..... he hits the nail on the head. That would be better phrased as as an unqualified closed-minded fat-assed lunkhead.

Rolleyes Professor Len returns to Degreeinfo
Posted by: Little Arminius - 09-06-2008, 10:01 PM - Forum: Nominees, second-stringers, others - Replies (23)

He was involved with SRU for a short time and peddled real estate in Dubai as well. Now he's back at DI with several new certificates and postgraduate diplomas. Len opened with the following statement:

Quote:I have heard via the grapevine that certain specific South African earned degrees and diplomas are not accepted nor recognized outside South African borders and especially in countries such as the USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, etc.
-- Len van der Walt

This specious statement, something I've never heard before, may be true for schools from every country in Africa, with the notable exception of South Africa which has strigent regulations concerning higher education. Len, an Afrikaner, knows this very well but still created a straw man (recognition of SA degrees) for some reason. Maybe Len is just laying the groundwork for his reemergence on the DL scene as something other than a poster? Will Len once again play a role in the operation of an unaccredited school, this time with a school claiming to operate from South Africa or Namibia? Does Len have what it takes to pull it off or is he a South African version of Dr. RRH?

I posted a statement in this thread:

http://www.degreediscussion.com/forums/v...f=5&t=5953

This statement has been viewed as: "Chuck Conner-ish".

What is the definition of a "Chuck Conner-ish" statement/behavior?

Anyone else notice this during Palin's speech?

Palin was bashing Obama and she mentions his plans to increase the "death" tax... Right after she says that the camera pans to an elderly woman. Gave me a good chuckle.

You can catch that part here: http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/politic...record.cnn

Start watching at about the 3:30 mark..

George Brown unloads on Robert Ray Hill at Degreeboard
Posted by: Little Arminius - 09-04-2008, 09:01 PM - Forum: Unaccredited vs. State-Approved vs. Accredited - Replies (15)

George Brown showed that he has really done a thorough job of tracking the exploits of Robert Ray Hill a/k/a True Patriot with respect to the latter's DL activities. Maybe there is something positive to be said for George and Peter French maintaining dossiers on various folks in the DL world? I had previously thought it harmless and, frankly, a waste of time but that does not appear to be the case.

  Moralizing At Degreeinfo - Puke

Moralizing about Palin?

What makes people think that a parent has any control over their teenage daughter? Didn't work for Gollin. Didn't work for Palin. In my life the people who moralized about other people's kids were soon called grampa and gramma.

It is such a totally sexist attitude to consider that it's a mom's failure if a daughter gets pregnant. The family is principled. Palin had a retard and kept it and her daughter is having a bastard that will be saved with the use of a shotgun and a preacher. They're a wonderful and very normal American family.

I don't seem to remember any moralizing about the Kennedy crew jumping every skirt that came along. Wasn't Robert zeroing in on a dozen kids when when he was chasing Jack's seconds like Marilyn Monroe. Now there's the iconic American family.

  Libya

A post at degreeinfo:

We hear everyday about an update, or a new event in the distance learning, or e-learning society, but in Libya its another story.

For example, I wasn't able to get my degree in IT&IS Management until I left the country, although it is called distance learning, it does not reach Libya. There is not even a single educational institution that provides its services to prospective students within the Libyan borders, just one question on my mind: Why?

I hope my question finds its answer someday!

I'm not a coward so here it goes. For about 30 years Libya sponsored terrorist acts in other countries and protected terrorists. The citizens of most countries were prohibited from trading with Libya. Is this a secret in Libya?
